The CCC is a registered brand. In years past, it was displayed on the right hip of all stock belonging to the Triple C herd. This brand has been owned by the Carlisle family since 1963 and is one of the oldest registered brands in the province. We maintain the registration of the CCC even though we no longer physically brand our herd. The CCC is a part of our heritage to be passed on to the fourth generation of cattle producers. Organic wasn't a term used years ago when all production was that way, it was just farming. We use the Triple C name for our organic beef as a reminder that some things are better done the old fashioned way.

Welcome to Triple C Beef!

We started actively marketing our organic beef in July 2003. Prior to this, we sold a few slaughter animals to local customers, sold purebred bulls and females to other cattle producers and marketed the rest through conventional auction marts. We were making a good living but when BSE was found in Canada, our conventional sales income dropped to less than half of what it was and cattle producers weren't buying replacement females or bulls. If there was any good time to promote and expand our organic beef sales, this was the time.

We started out very inexperienced in direct marketing. Until now, we've spent all of our time caring for the animals and leaving the end product to someone else. In the short time we've been doing this, we've found that consumers want to know where their beef comes from, how it is raised, how and where is it processed, and a lot more. With issues in the media such as GMO technology, antibiotic resistance and now BSE, consumers want to be reassured. They need access to information that can help them make informed decisions. We're not experts, but we do know about raising cattle. We've been doing this our whole lives.

We've constructed this website to promote our Triple C Organic Beef, but we've tried to give a fairly in depth overview of the whole cattle industry as we know it, from birthing calves on the farm to processing the finished product. If the information raises questions that we haven't dealt with adequately, call or email, we'll do our best to answer them. It is our viewpoint which we have provided here and there may be those who don't agree with this information...we want to hear from you too.
